Top 10 Logo Calendar Options for 2011

Customized calendars continue to be a valuable marketing tool for businesses.  They provide 365 days of advertising impressions which is among the longest durations of any advertising options.  In addition, calendars continue to serve a useful function for work and home based recipients.

To really capture the marketing potential of a custom calendar, organizations should leverage the innovative features offered by many customized calendars including using custom photos, personalization, and custom date grids.

Beyond their marketing potential for businesses, Calendars can be valuable for non-profit organizations and schools for fundraising and outreach efforts.   For example, a non-profit organization can customize a calendar with photos from past events, illustrations featuring their services, or images of their beneficiaries and sell it as part of a fundraiser or distribute it as part of an outreach effort.  Similarly, schools could also customize the date grid of a calendar to identify school holidays, annual events, PTA meetings and much more.

One of the execs from our company is retiring in a few months and I'm coordianting the retirement party. The plan is for it to be a "fun" event with a video "roast" with employees, customers and affiliates participating. We want to have some sort of a fun keep-sake to give to everyone who attends as well as something to give the retiree besides the traditional gold watch... preferrably something that won't just get stuffed in a drawer but will be proudly displayed or used. Got some ideas?

mjs81

This is a great question.  So often, when there’s a big retirement party, company’s forget about the folks left behind.  After many years working at a company, there can be a great deal camaraderie that develops over the years between employees.  Recognizing it and awarding it can send a positive message to the employees that remain as well as the retiree.  From the retirement gift perspective, the old “gold watch” is just that …getting old.  Why not get a bit more creative with the retirement gifts?

While you didn’t mention whether the retiree was a man or woman, how many people you were anticipating at the event or a budget, we’ll assume a gender neutral gift and give you a couple ideas to cover a range of budgets.

Let’s start with the gift for the retiree.  One option is to give the retiree a Corporate Award Selection.  These are basically gift books where the recipient can choose a gift themselves from a catalog of choices.  The catalogs come in varying levels corresponding to dollar value so that you can select one that’s within the budget and appropriate for the person.  Of course, to some, we recognize that this can be somewhat of an impersonal gift.  Too, many company’s may want to combine this with something a little flashier to give to someone at an event.

Another great choice is a customized art sculpture award like a Zeus Barry Entner Signature Collection piece which would most certainly become a focal point display in the retirees home.  Of course, there are a variety of other art sculptures awards for varying budgets.

In terms of keepsakes for the participants, the obvious choice is to give the attendees a copy of the roast video that will be shown at the event.  With a customized DVD and DVD Wallet featuring photos of the retiree, it will be a stylish gift for all in attendance and can be tailored to a large degree based on the budget.  Of course, the key thing to remember is that you’ve got to get the video done early enough in advance to get it burned on the DVDs in order to distribute at the retirement party.

Another keepsake idea that’s sure to be a big hit, albeit a bit pricier, is a custom bobble head featuring your retirees likeness!  There are a variety of options to choose for both men and women figurines based on the person’s style, hobbies and such.  The heads are customized based on photos provided of the retiree.

If you need any more ideas, just give us a call at 877-300-5005 or check out our website at www.bnoticed.com.  Thanks for the great question!

Creating a Carnival Theme for a Company Picnic isn’t too difficult.  Think bright colors and you’re practically there!    To create Carnival booths, you’ll need some customized pop-up canopies.   Get some curtain material in bold colors or balloon imprinted backdrops to line the walls and back of the booths.  Get some customized banners or just make some signs for each booth to identify the game.  Be sure to use bright colors and carnival style fonts.   Add some colorful garland, tissue balls and clown cut-out decorations!  Serving ice cream?  Add a tissue ice cream cone over the ice cream station!  Get a few toss ice coolers designed to look like “toss” events to keep with the theme!

“The Games” Themed Company Picnic

“The Games” theme doesn’t require a lot of elaborate decorations.  Rather, it’s more about the venue and the activities.  Nonetheless, the are some common sights at major sporting events which go beyond the field and bleachers to add an element of décor to the event.  Things like a large 6’ x 10’ team flag with your company and/or event logo.  Add in custom rally towels, cheer mits and logo cheer sticks for all the spectators at the event as well as a some well distributed customized megaphones!    Of course, you could add in a giant cheerleader balloon at the entrance of the event to really capture attention.

Why  not use tailgate tape to designate the food and beverage area.  Hand out tail gate sets of plates and utensils and use inflatable goal post coolers to keep the beverages cool!  Heck, add in a few inflatable tailgate sofas or tailgate benches for added atmosphere!

Send employees and their family a sports-styled calendar magnet announcing “The Games” Company Picnic and listing each of the events, their start times and locations.

“The Games” Themed Activities

Don’t forget to award the event winners.  Why not build an inexpensive Olympic-style podium and award customized bronze, silver and gold medals, customized chocolate styled metals or even lapel pins.
